I've been in the field of education for over ten years, working at both the high school and middle school levels. I have a Bachelor's degree in history and a Master's in literacy. Teaching is one of my great passions, and I love finding out new ways to make the learning experience more engaging, entertaining, and creative while still challenging and useful. For me, life is an adventure, with the highs making our greatest memories and our lows making us stronger while both making our individual stories memorable. And through it all, our the knowledge we receive throughout life becomes the tools we can use to be our best during all of life's moments.
At VAAS you'll see me working with both our history subject matter as well as various programs and opportunities that help enhance college preparation and readiness. These include all of the following:
-Teaching AP US History, AP Government and AP Macro Economics
-Serving as a Co-Teacher to various University-Level Professors in our Ed Equity courses
-Running the College Ambassadors program
-Serving as the faculty sponsor to our school's Key Club
My work with students have lead them to various degrees of success, including successfully passing AP exams, successfully passing university level courses, acquiring numerous college credits for free during high school, and acceptances to high ranking schools like UCLA, USC, Georgetown and UC Berkley.
