Why does Title I (Meal Applications) matter to VAAS?

Meal applications benefit ALL students at VAAS, whether or not the student qualifies. Our goal is 100% every year.
  • Meal applications have paid for the following:
    • Full time college counselor
    • Full time school nurse
    • Full time school psychologist
    • Full time teaching position (to lower class sizes)
    • Full time coordinator for Special Education
    • New printer & new projectors
    • Free after school tutoring
    • Free help with college essays
    • Field trips (UCLA, USC, UCSB, CSLA, CSUN, CA African American Museum, Science Center, Ballona Wetlands, etc.)
    • iPads and computers
When a student does not submit a meal application, it affects everyone at VAAS – faculty, staff, and most importantly, students.
