About Ms. Gervacio

Hello Valley Academy of Arts and Science (VAAS) family!

My name is Loreann Gervacio and I have been in education for over 13 years.  I began my career as a special education teacher at Los Angeles Elementary in an SDC Autism classroom for students on the core curriculum.  I truly enjoyed working with the students and staff at Los Angeles Elementary.  My special education assistants and I created a welcoming learning environment where the students thrived.  After four years at Los Angeles Elementary, I made the move to George K. Porter Gifted Magnet Middle School where I taught 6th grade math, 6th grade science, forensics, 7th grade math, Accelerated 7th grade math, and Algebra.  I had the opportunity to work with our gifted population which allowed me to create lessons that were both engaging and enriching. After being in the classroom for over 10 years and taking on several teacher leadership roles, I decided to pursue my Master’s Degree in Education with an Administrative Credential from UCLA’s Principal Leadership Institute.  After I graduated with my Master’s,  I moved into the Intervention Prevention Support Coordinator Position at Porter Middle School where I supported our Special Education students and teachers.  After working as an Intervention Prevention Support Coordinator for a couple of years, I was promoted to Assistant Principal Elementary Instructional Specialist at Harding Elementary School where I continued to support the special education team and also worked with parents and students to support teaching and learning.  With all of my prior experiences in education, I am very excited to support our VAAS family and to achieve the gains that our students deserve.
