The 2021-2022 school year is my 18th year as a high school teacher. In those years, I have taught English 9-12, ERWC, Journalism, Newspaper, Advisory, Humanities, AP Literature and Composition, and 2nd Shift High School. I have also spent my summers working for CSUB within the Early Start Program designed to help incoming college freshman. While this is my fifth year at VAAS, I taught for LAUSD in the South District at Diego Rivera Performing Arts Complex, and the 12 years prior at West High School in Bakersfield. My Master's of Education Degree and Bachelor's of English Degree from Aquinas College, in Grand Rapids, MI, have given me the tools necessary to help students achieve at their highest level. Finally, teaching is my passion and life calling. Helping young people reach their life goals is my way of making a difference in the world.
