Biography
I am originally from south Orange County and attended Cal State University Northridge from 2000-2008. During my time at CSUN, I obtained my Bachelors in Mathematics, Preliminary Teaching Credentials, and Masters in Mathematics Education. Currently, I am in my 13th year teaching high school mathematics for LAUSD, 7 years at Reseda High School and on my 6th here at VAAS. In addition, I have been teaching part time at CSUN in the Developmental Mathematics Department since 2010.
Aside from teaching, I have been known as a crazy runner. I started running in July 2014 due to a spur of moment life decision. Since then I have completed 10 marathons (26.2 miles) including the famed Boston Marathon (April 2017). Some of my recent accomplishments include running a 50 mile ultra trail race (9 hours and 14 minutes) last December and completing the Santa Rosa Ironman 140.6 miles (12 hours and 26 minutes) last July. My next goal is to finish a 100 mile trail race.
