Hi there! My name is Dennis Wang and I have been teaching for 4 years now at VAAS. My beginnings in academia post high school began at UC Santa Cruz studying history, focusing on both modern us history and East Asian history. I took 3 1/2 years after graduating to travel and work, before deciding to pursue a career in teaching. I graduated with a Master in Teaching at UC Irvine, before landing here at VAAS. My goals with teaching are to help students be better people. That might mean to have a deeper understanding of history or to develop their argumentative writing, but it might also mean to further their analytical reading or critical thinking skills. But maybe more importantly, to be nicer to other people around even in disagreement, and to be kinder to themselves in a stressful period of their lives.
I currently teach Advisory, AP US History, and US History.
